In the first episode of The Tunnels, Robert Chauncey begins his investigation into the truth behind the urban legend of the tunnels that are underneath the small Georgia town of Griffin.

As the investigation into The Tunnels continues, we search for information about a patient from the Spalding State Institute. A patient that used the tunnels to help her and several other patients to escape.
In this episode, we are introduced to one of Griffin's more controversial characters, Ezekiel Cain, and we take our first trip into The Tunnels.
Secrets are revealed in this episode, as Carrie helps Robert shed some light on what was chasing him in the tunnels. Plus Robert is contacted by a former patient from Spalding Institute.
In the final episode before the season finale, Robert meets with someone about a video taken in the tunnels, and we learn more about Carrie's connection with Ezekiel Cain.
In the season finale, Robert and Carrie try to find more information about Ezekiel Cain, in a desperate attempt to force him to talk to them.
Robert received a mysterious tape containing a sermon by Ezekiel Cain. It took him weeks to finally turn the tape over and listen to the other side.
